During the winter, Phobjika Valley in Wangdi district, is also home to the rare black-necked cranes. These birds migrate from Tibet for the winter, and Phobjika is one of two valleys in Bhutan that they call their winter home. If your trip is during the months of November to February,  you should plan to spend 2 nights at  Phobjika to hike many trails of this expansive high altitude valley and walk along the mash areas where the majestic black-necked cranes roost.

In Thimphu and Paro Valleys you can  hike to various famous monasteries such as Choeri and Taktshang (Tiger's Nest).
